On Monday 24 June 2019 at the Resilience Engineering Association (REA) Symposium in Kalmar, Sweden, Dr Ivonne Herrera (SINTEF) and Dr Rogier Woltjer (FOI) facilitated a workshop on the DARWIN results and in particular on the Capability Cards presenting the DARWIN Resilience Management Guidelines.
19 participants from three continents gathered to discuss four of the DARWIN Capability Cards (DRMG). These practitioners and academics represented a wide diversity of applications domains such as information technology, manufacturing, rail, maritime, energy, and cities. The participants were mainly interested in improving resilience of their organisation, implementing concepts of resilience, training, learn about new developments in resilience, and specifically the contents of the DARWIN guidelines that some had already heard about or read before coming to the workshop. During the discussions the participants shed light on and exchanged viewpoints about on the contents and the form of the Capability Cards. They discussed areas that can provide new insights also provide input to improve the content. Several participants indicated that they will investigate further how they can use the DRMG in their work after finding a number of useful and relevant questions and ideas that they wanted to explore and apply.
